Over
the years we have met with numerous non traditional couples and gay
individuals to assist with estate planning, drafting
partnership agreements, addressing harm resulting from
discriminatory behavior, and representing individuals in dissolutions of
their unions.
It
is important that non-traditional couples plan for the future. Homosexual
couples do not have the protections available through state statutes for
heterosexual couples. Thus it is extremely important that gay couples plan
for the future by putting their wishes and desires in writing with the
formalities required by the courts.
Our staff of gay-friendly
attorneys can help draft domestic Partnership agreements, or help settle
property disputes. We also concentrate part of our practice in the
preparation of wills, durable powers of attorney, advanced health care
directives, living wills and other estate planning documents for
non-traditional couples. We can provide counsel in adoption issues and
guardianship of minor children.
